Wooden Toys for Charity

Mr. Mills and Mr. Lim with the wooden toys

Its heart warming to see what our school can do to help out needy families in the community.  In addition to the Adopt a Family charity drive we have going on, our Tech Ed dept has made 30 wooden rocking toys for young children which will be distributed by the Surrey Christmas Bureau.  These rocking wooden planes and dinosaurs will no doubt be cherished by many young children in our community.   With the support of our PAC to purchase the wood and many hours of volunteer time on the part of Tech Education teachers Mr. Martin Lim, Mr. Chris Mills, Mr. Andy Savory, Mr. Richard Berry, and Ms. Sharissa Murphy as well as parents, staff, and students.  This being our ninth year of building, the total number of toys now exceeds 200!  We would never have been able to do it without the generous donations from our community partners: BC Fasteners, Country Lumber, General Paint, KMS Tools, Langley Decorating Centre, Northcoast Building Products, and The Home Depot. Also, many thanks to our Fraser Heights Secondary Administration and PAC, as well as numerous District staff, students, parents and friends. Thanks so much for your time and your energy at this busy time of year.  We look forward to another successful build next year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all,

Andy, Chris, Rich, Sharissa, Martin & Shelagh
