Fraser Heights has Spirit!

I was so impressed with the school spirit as expressed during our Welcome Back Week from Sept. 19 – 23.  Each day our Student Council organized special theme days and events which helped to build amazing enthusiasm in our school.  Monday was Multicultural Monday, Texas Tuesday, Workout Wednesday, Twin Thursday, and Flip Friday.  Students had a great time dressing up for each theme day.  I think Texas Tuesday was our most popular day which feature so many students doing square dancing in the garage at lunch.   This was a great introduction to high school for our grade 8’s.  There was lots and lots of involvement.  What great school spirit.

Our Grade 12’s made sure to lead the way and thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Canadian University Event

Yesterday all our grade 11 and 12 students attended CUE , Canadian Universities Event.  We had representatives from  all the universities in Canada.  Only representatives from McGill University were missing.   Students from our school, Pacific Academy, and Walnut Grove Secondary also attended the event held in our gym.  We had huge crowds out for the event and a few parents as well.  What a great opportunity for our students to ask all their questions and collect info from all the universities in Canada.  Special thanks to counsellor Glen Payne and the counselling department for organizing the event.

Paddling Together at Fraser Heights 2011-12

working together

It’s exciting to share a journey with others, to work together toward a common goal, building trust and working in rhythm with those around you.  These are the things we will continue to discover as we move forward as a team.  It comes down to simple things; to lend a hand, to encourage another, and to pull together. We look forward to the year ahead and our shared commitment making this a most exciting year at Fraser Heights Secondary.
